Massifond S.p.A. has structured its process giving central focus to big castings for tool manufacturing in automotive industry, dimensioning all facilities for this casting size handling.

Tools for big press lines require 5 meters long and 2,5 meters wide castings, with different heights. A big casting implies then great dimensions, heavy weight, huge machineries for each process step, a large casting box and powerful cranes able to lift up to 100 tons.

Many big castings mean large facilities to store a lot of huge casting boxes, an organized logistic to properly move at same time all these boxes safely and quickly, an informatized process workflow through accurate scheduling, able to trace instantaneously any casting.
